IT’S A RETREAT JUST FOR SINGLE MOMS & YOU’RE INVITED!!
The Single Moms Retreat started with an idea after I continuously watched mother’s struggle with trying to work, manage a house, maintain their mental health, & raise children all alone. I wanted to create an outlet, a retreat, & therapeutic opportunity for mothers that feel they have the weight of the world on their shoulders.
DAY 1
TAKING CARE OF MOMMY….
TOPIC#1: “BEING THE SOLE FINANCIAL PROVIDER
Processing feelings and the experience of:
Providing and managing a home with only one income.
Frustrations with child support.
Understanding how financial stress can impact your health &interactions with others.
TOPIC#2: “THE IMPORTANCE OF MOMMY TIME
Self-Care
TOPIC#3: “STRONG & SUPPORTIVE & EMPATHETIC SUPPORT SYSTEM”
DAY 2
it’s safe to heal…
TOPIC #1: “MOMMY GUILT”
TOPIC#1: Identifying & processing feelings of:
Being the primary disciplinarian
Being away from your children because of work having to say “NO” when you can’t meet their expectations
Resolving feelings of being abandoned by your parent mate.
TOPIC#2 : “DEALING WITH “DOING IT ALL ALONE”.
Discussing & Processing the experience of:
Not having a strong support system
Lack of trust and vulnerability
TOPIC#3: “RESILENCY”
it’s okay to Take a Break…..
The retreat is will be a two day retreat where mothers will travel away to another destination to catch quick mental break while bonding with other mothers that face some of the same challenges.
Participants stay at the location from Friday to Sunday. Both Friday and Saturday will be packed with information, skills building, activities, rest, and fun.
It is my hope that the participants will be able to get resources and skills that they need in order to find greater sense of pride the awesome job that the are doing as a SINGLE MOTHER!!
** PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY BE PAIRED WITH SOMEONE THAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW. THE PURPOSE IS TO ENCOURAGE PARTICIPANTS TO LEARN SOMETHING FROM ONE ANOTHER**
